The Process
Precoat filters – candle type
Candle‑type systems use a vertical cylindrical vessel with a conical bottom. Filtering candles are mounted at the top on a horizontal nozzle sheet or collecting manifolds. Backwash procedures depend on the application, and systems can be configured for slurry or dry discharge. Dry discharge includes a drying gas stream for dry‑cake removal.
Precoat filters – leaf type
Leaf‑type systems use a horizontal cylindrical vessel equipped with circular filtering leaves mounted on a central internal collecting header. The vertical round leaves filter inward on both sides and are supported by a central shaft that also collects the filtered liquid. During washing, the shaft rotates the leaves while a strong blade jet cleans them.
