Bouter Group Tapas, part of the A-ware Food Group, produces a wide range of fresh tapas products and convenience snacks for the retail and foodservice markets. The production process generates industrial wastewater containing high concentrations of fats, oils, grease (FOG), suspended solids, and organic pollution.
To ensure reliable discharge to the municipal sewer system, Bouter Group Tapas required a robust pretreatment solution capable of handling strongly fluctuating wastewater characteristics. At the same time, available space at the production site was limited, making a compact, modular solution essential. The installation also needed to be implemented with minimal disruption to daily operations and within a short project timeline.

To address these challenges, Nijhuis Saur Industries supplied a compact, skid-mounted pretreatment system based on mechanical screening, chemical conditioning, and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) technology.
The solution was delivered as a fully integrated plug-and-play IPF010 skid, significantly reducing civil works, installation time, and commissioning efforts. Designed to cope with fluctuating hydraulic and pollution loads, the system provides stable and reliable treatment performance while ensuring operational flexibility for future production growth.

Applied solutions
Mechanical pre-treatment

Inline flocculation process with pH correction, coagulant dosing, and flocculant dosing to optimize particle aggregation and separation performance.
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)
High-efficiency flotation using the IPF010E DAF system with lamella technology for effective removal of fats, oils, grease, and suspended solids.
