About the project
GOZOKI, a manufacturer of ready-made meals – notably tomato-based recipes – needed to treat a high-strength, high-pH industrial effluent to meet strict discharge standards, within a very limited ground footprint. Conventional flotation and biological setups demanded more space and consumables than the site could accommodate.
The operator also wanted to reduce reliance on heavy on-site supervision and to improve sludge management, turning a treatment cost into a recoverable resource.
The solution
Coldep installed two VAL 900 (Vacuum Air Lift) units, commissioned in 2022 – a vacuum-flotation process that combines particle extraction, gas dissolution/degassing and water circulation in a single, vertical device with a small footprint.
Running with limited additives and remotely piloted, the system cut the pollutant load sharply – COD from over 8,000 mg/L down to under 2,000 mg/L at the outlet – while concentrating solids for valorisation in methanisation.
