Project's context and challenges

Blue Paper manufactures corrugated medium reels from 100% recovered paperboard. The reels produced are sent to customers to make packaging board. Blue Paper started the ‘Blue Gas’ project to expand their existing wastewater treatment plant. An Econvert-IR® was chosen due to Econvert’s experience and references for this specific application. The produced biogas is used in the site’s biogas engine where green electricity is produced, and the steam boiler where natural gas is replaced.

Solution

As an expansion to the wastewater treatment plant at Blue Paper in Strasbourg, Econvert designed, engineered and delivered an Econvert-IR®. All equipment, internals and tanks were supplied by Econvert. The Econvert-IR® is part of Blue Paper’s state of the art wastewater treatment and recycling plant. The biogas produced by the Econvert-IR® is cleaned and used in the biogas engine where green electricity is produced, and the steam boiler where natural gas is replaced.
