Your challenges
Maximizing treatment performance and operational flexibility in limited spaces.
Limited Space for Treatment Infrastructure
Urban and industrial sites often lack the space for large water treatment systems. Concrete i-DAF's compact design and high hydraulic loading rate (>40 m³/m²/h) allow for efficient treatment in tight spaces.
High Operational Costs and Maintenance
Traditional systems suffer from clogging and frequent maintenance. Concrete i-DAF uses a clog-free aeration system and smart effluent valve to reduce downtime and operational expenses.
Inconsistent Water Quality
Fluctuating flows and variable water sources can affect treatment results. Concrete i-DAF maintains consistent water levels and uses advances skimming and plate pack technology to ensure high effluent quality.
Do you want to know more about the NSI High-Rate DAF?
How does it work ?
The NSI high rate concrete i-DAF is a dissolved air flotation system designed to efficiently separate suspended solids, fats, oils, and grease from water, even under fluctuating flow conditions based on the unparalleled ‘Nijhuis dissolved air flotation’ expertise.
The process
The NSI high rate concrete i-DAF is engineered using a combination of patented and optimized components:
- Clog-Free Aeration system: The aeration tube mixes pressurized water and air in a special zone, producing fine bubbles (30-60 microns) that lift solids to the surface. This design clogging and reduces maintenance.
- Integrated plate pack: The plate pack increases the effective surface area and maintains stable laminar flow, enhancing separation performance and reducing pollution in the effluent.
- 3-wheel skimmer: The skimmer gently handles the floatation layer with minimal backflow, ensuring optimal sludge removal. It’s available in corrosion – resistant materials for seawater application.
- Smart effluent valve: This intelligence valve keeps water levels stable even under changing flow conditions. It also allows full removal of the floating layer before shutdown, minimizing sedimentation and improving cleaning efficiency.
Applications
The NSI high rate concrete i-DAF is a versatile flotation solution used in a variety of water and wastewater treatment applications, providing reliable performance in different operational environments.
- Drinking water production: Removing suspended solids, algae, and organic matter from raw water sources such as rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.
- Desalination plants: Pre-treatment and post-treatment in seawater desalination processes, ensuring the removal of fine solids and improving the lifespan of membranes and downstream equipment.
- Municipal wastewater treatment: Enhancing primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes by removing fats, oils, grease, and suspended solids, improving overall plant efficiency and effluent quality.
- Industrial wastewater treatment: Managing effluent from industries such as food and beverage, dairy, oil and gas, textiles, and chemicals, where high concentrations of organic matter and suspended solids require effective separation.
- Sludge thickening: Concentrating sludge solids before further treatment or disposal, reducing sludge handling costs and improving process efficiency.
