Project's context and challenges

Biovet as a fast-growing company faced an issue with increasing amount of waste waters being processed by existing WWTP, which was built in 1980s. Consequently the company had to find company capable to reconstruct the existing WWTP to process increased influent and meet the prescribed discharge limits .

Nijhuis was awarded the project due to timely response, smart design and sustainable solution. The project of pharma plant has been implemented within the program of “Junker’s plan for investment in Europe” by means of 100 mln. euros. Biovet has become the number one manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceuticals and animal feed additives in Europe.
Additionally, they are ranked as the third largest producer globally, with smaller production facilities in Italy and the USA, as well as numerous commercial offices.

Scope of supply

Equipment: New pretreatment system (2 pcs. NTF 300, one PFR 180, 2 pcs. GDF 32), selector for new operation mode of 3 existing Bios (from initial consequences flow to parallel one), 3 sets of bottom aeration systems & related blowers, one NPF 200, 3 pcs. and a lot of supporting auxiliaries.
